Electronic Waste & Appliances
Almost anything with a cord or wall plug is classified as electronic waste (e-waste), including cords and wires themselves. Household appliances include microwaves, refrigerators, stoves & washing machines.
It is illegal to discard e-waste and household appliances in the household trash or recycling carts because they contain hazardous materials like lead, arsenic and mercury. You must take these items to state-licensed facilities.
